It's only a short day because daylight savings time begins at 2 a.m. tomorrow morning, meaning we "spring" forward and lose one hour in our 24-hour day. The good news is that means the real days of spring, summer and hours of daylight are around the corner. Yay!
It's been a full day. It started with an Awards Breakfast for a family-owned business that we know quite well. It may be family-owned and spread throughout western Washington, but it's certainly not a small company as you might think. They put on this annual awards breakfast for all of their employees. In addition to the numerous awards and recognitions given at the this event, they also recognize new retirees. It was like watching them say bye-bye to members of their own family. No matter the position in the company, the Chairman of the Board and the President knew each and every employee by name and not just because there was a name on the envelope or award. It was quite impressive and I felt quite honored we were invited to attend as a guest.
Here's my "quick and simple" card for today. I brought out the IMAGINE Crafts' Creative Medium in iridescent blue, iridescent green and gold. I shook a wee bit of Magenta's Cerulean Blue Nuance into the iridescent blue medium and stirred it in well; when mixed, I could see the Nuance color take effect. I applied all 3 colored mediums onto glossy card stock using a stencil from the Creative Workshop, and allowed it to dry before trimming down with a paper trimmer. The twinchie from Inchie Arts was stamped, edged with a Memento Marker on all four sides, and color edged on top with a dauber.

Tomorrow is another day at organizing, cleaning and purging. The steps seem incrementally small most of the time, but I know progress is being made. My huband is not so sure!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous day . . . it's the first day of daylight savings time. Remember to advance your clocks one hour.
